Smiley Tots Preschool & Early Learning Centre is a proud family owned and operated Kingscliff childcare service. We have been an integral part of the Chinderah and Kingscliff community for over 30 years.

We pride ourselves on our outstanding reputation for providing an exceeding, play-based and educational program with a friendly, family-orientated atmosphere.

We are an extremely inclusive service and welcome all children no matter what their needs and abilities. Our highly trained and compassionate educators have vast experience in working with children with additional needs and medical conditions as well as working collaboratively with their therapists. With the assistance of the Inclusion Support Program we also employ additional educators to ensure all children’s needs are met to the best of our ability.

The Smiley Tots Philosophy

We believe early childhood is a magical time of learning and discovery — a time when children and educators walk the path of learning together through a balance of child lead, spontaneous and intentional play experiences.

We embrace a holistic, play-based approach to learning, embedding the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF)into our everyday practices and curriculum. Through play, children explore, question, experiment, and make meaning of the world around them.
We value respect, acceptance, and inclusion of all abilities, people, and cultures. Every child is celebrated for who they are and the unique contributions they bring to our community.

We respectfully acknowledge the Goodjinburra people of the Bundjalung Nation, the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we work, play, and learn. We honour their deep spiritual connection to this land and its waters, and pay our respects to Elders past, present, and emerging.

We are committed to embedding Indigenous perspectives and knowledge into our program and to fostering children’s understanding of, and respect for, First Nations cultures.

Indoor Learning Environments

Our beautiful oversized rooms feature calming neutral tones and natural resources. On the lower level the dolphin and seahorse children move freely from room to room and from inside to outside. The upstairs level features our preschool room which is for the year before school.
